I don't like the dragged intro of the original version, as it takes so long for the chord progression of the chorus to arrive, which is what makes the song for me. Blake took this and used it to the songs emotional advantage. Having said this, the original has value in its acoustic aspects and harmonies. I think both versions leave much to be desired by way of a congruous bassline throughout though.

This version is a lot easier to swallow than Blake's. Feist is saying "the world sucks, but that's okay, I guess." Blake is more like "The world sucks, and fruits flying fucking everywhere."
