@TheReconSquad it doesn't have to be giant. it was a small project you could just clamp the edges round or how bout those things called joints. or use biscuits. and out of curiosity show me a table, any table, made by marc(i watched most of his videos) where he uses a) just glue b) pin nails c) those two combined to secure a table surface.
i study architecture and for 2 semesters studied furniture. needless to say the technique showed above did not appeared.

Pause at 0:22 and you will see that the end grain of the top panel has been wrecked in the cutting. That isn't an acceptable standard of work, especially in a demonstration video. Also the glueing needs to be done better. The glue must be spread properly and pressure applied over the whole top surface, not just in the middle.
just for the record this is crappy craftsmanship. a true woodworker never uses pin nails to hold the table top to the frame. also he sure as hell will never use a bucket to secure an on-going gluing process because he has heard by now of clamps
