it's so cool how 3D texturing in movie visual effects was made possible entirely by discovering how to do it fractally. there's videos about it on youtube. what's cool though, is that videos of fractals in their most raw form, like this, seem almost...organic. almost like this isn't an imaginary flythrough in a 3D digital realm...rather, it's video of a REAL place. fractals have this eerie organic quality to them. it's beautiful. reminds me of the visuals on mushrooms or LSD.
