It became rare to find an old schooner or wooden sailboat on sea - this reminds me to my childhood. Wooden sailboats, steam locos...were common till to the 60ies. I would like to sail with such a wooden schooner or saildboot from the 20ies 30ies. In the early 80ies I spent one week on an old turkish fisherboat in the Eastern Mediterranean. It was a small wooden fisherboat with 2 beds and small kitchen. On deck he had turkish carpets....it was a traditional fisherboat from Turkey.

Absolutely outstanding footage of the schooner off Harwich Port. You can see the Killdee Hill Watertank and Pilgrim Church Steeple. Who is the man's head we see as they are going out the channel? And what is the name of the Schooner? (I don't think its the Laura S.) Thanks again Tom Leach Harbormaster
PS. Please LOL
she was the murry peterson schooner coaster. the jones' bought her in 55' and sailed her to the bahamas in 56'. they had silver heels built in 1963.

@plfcros Interesting. The name of the people my parents went sailing with on this trip was Jones, who my parents always used to call Jonesy! Maybe it was their boat, and we see it from another boat?
