  • Right on, Mayor Laguardia! At least he had the balls to say what needed to be said. Imagine today's politicians worrying about being labeled "soft on drugs".

  • That's more than any politician would do today. Too many of them are unwilling to put their careers on the line in order to speak for marijuana. It's sad that people just fall in line and dont have the guts required to speak their minds.

  • @bunnyslayer14 I know it is still valid and, as you can see, I actually do say that in my original comment.

  • Watching this...makes "Mayor" $BLoomberG Inc.$ look so smug prohibition will never work

  • "It really puzzles me to see marijuana connected with Narcotics - Dope and all that crap…it's a thousand times better than whiskey - it's an Assistant - a friend." -Louis Armstrong

  • Some quotes from the idiot Mayor LaGuardia disagreed with.

"...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races."

"marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death."

"Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men."

"You smoke a joint and you're likely to kill your brother."

-Harry J. Anslinger, Commissioner of the US Bureau of Narcotics 1930-1962

  • @supaleetkillah prohibition is prohibition. it is true either way. he had the same view on marijuana prohibition as he did on alcohol prohibition.

  • I'm sorry to "bash" on the title of your video, but he wasn't talking about marijuana prohibition, but the prohibition of alcohol. I know you came across this wonderful clip via the documentary "Grass - The history of marijuana", but fair has to be fair. It is still a tremendous clip about the whole concept of prohibition and how it is doomed to fail. Drugs should be controlled, therefore they should be legal so we actually CAN control them. End the drug war!

  • AMERICA IS BULLSHIT! when it comes to marijuana. and shit like wars.

  • Guy ashing his blunt at :31. LOL.

  • Funny that this is also the guy that outlawed artichokes for awhile. :-)
