Spamming is allowed in tourneys, and there's nothing wrong in using the same tactics again and again as long as it works.

But its usually discouraged for 3 main reasons.

1) You get haters from the "more honourable" player who value "sportsmanship". We usually don't have to care.

2) Using the same tactics will eventually expose our weakness, like how Dart did against Herman.

3) We're not adapting our gameplay according to situation. Would you still use a gun when the enemy went into a tank?

@AxeeeeLx "Don't hate the player hate the game" and you proved that statement by saying "no one cares about spamming for assist because that's how the game is played." Why hate sephiroth because he is better at gaining assist than the majority of the cast? It's a sephiroth users fault that his "spam for assist" move is also great for pressure?

@sepirothfreak999 all you did in your "premise" was state the obvious; people have reason to bitch about SF. everybody has the ability to spam for assist; SF just places pressure way too well. i didnt change your original premise in the slightest; again, all i did was list what makes moves like DC and SF on different levels. bitching about sephiroth spam is justified; you cant hardly do anything about it. nobody cares about spamming for assist because thats how the game plays.

@AxeeeeLx admittedly you should have thought through the assist you were going to use before you signed up for the challenge herman. The point is spam is spam yet there is a double standard as to "ugh i'm so tired of seeing shadow flare." Why is there no "Ugh I'm tired of seeing double cut, I only watch cloud fights to hope that double cut spamming asshole loses." Seems more like people are bitching about sephiroth not the spam.

@sepirothfreak999 im listing the qualities that make shadow flare completely different from spamming a melee move that doesnt place large amounts of pressure on the opponent, which you clearly dont seem to understand.

your "premise" is completely irrelevant considering shadow flare spam places pressure safely, can link to combos, shuts certain characters down, and is one of the fastest methods to gain assist in the game. you clearly dont understand why people complain about SF. you're an idiot.
