Albino Bristlenose Pleco Pairing

Looks like pairing up. The male came out of pvc tube, let the female in and chased the other male away.

hi does male have to be bigger than female and what size do female breed

No my friend they must be about full sized and the male has a load of spikes on the head and around the mouth and the female has like a mustache of spikes or none or a little amount of spikes. Basically the males are really spiky and mean looking and the females ain't.

hi i got bristle nose i bought it a year an a half ago and iam not sure weather its a female or male its an adult 8cm has very tiny bristle aroud lips and nose please help

That's right. Best to know how big they can get, and use a tank big enough for it.

Some common plecs get more than a foot long.

Thanks for the reply...I know it's not a bristlenose plec. It's dark brown and black. I think it's the kind that gets really big. (shudder) If it is that kind then I'll just have to give it away when it outgrows my 20 gallon. I think I should have done more research :{. Oh well. I'll figure out some way to keep it happy and healthy even if that means eventually I'll have to re-home. Thanks again.
