On the weekend 27-29th of May, 2011, a group calling themselves Radio Nord Revival was broadcasting from the museum icebreaker ship S/S Sankt Erik, to celebrate the fiftieth Anniversary of Radio Nord.

Radio Nord was a free radio station, broadcasting popular programs targeted at the central parts of Sweden. The station was launched on March 8, 1961, but was forced to close down when the Swedish government introduced the "Lex Radio Nord" of 1962, criminalizing the act of buying advertising time on the station. Although the adventure only lasted for 16 months, the station still remains as an important radio era to most of those who remember how they listened to the station, and in fact also among those who have no personal memories of the station but have heard others talk about their happy memories of it.

Radio Nord Revival performed live broadcasts in the spirit of the original Radio Nord on the same frequency, 603 kHz, as the original and also on 1512 kHz and streaming on the Internet. As seen in this film, through the whole weekend, there were many Radio Nord fans who visited the "Radio Nord" studio that had been built in the shipowners' suite on board the ice breaker ship.
