Generally speaking, 1.3 increases difficulty, adds new random battles to the world map and Deep Dungeon, improves monsters, and re-balances the skills and items to make the game more fun and challenging.

Final Fantasy Tactics (ファイナルファンタジータクティクス, Fainaru Fantajī Takutikusu?) is a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Sony PlayStation video game console. It is the first game of the Final Fantasy Tactics series and was released in Japan in June 1997 and in the United States in January 1998. The game combines thematic elements of the Final Fantasy video game series with a game engine and battle system unlike those previously seen in the franchise. In contrast to other 32-bit era Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy Tactics uses a 3D, isometric, rotatable playing field, with bitmap sprite characters.[4]

Final Fantasy Tactics is set in a fictional medieval-inspired kingdom called Ivalice. The game's story follows Ramza Beoulve, a highborn cadet who finds himself thrust into the middle of a military conflict known as The Lion War, where two opposing noble factions are coveting the throne of the kingdom. As the story progresses, Ramza and his allies discover a sinister plot behind the war.

A spinoff title, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, was released for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2003 and a sequel to that title, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, was released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS. Various other games have also utilized the Ivalice setting, including Vagrant Story for the Playstation and Final Fantasy XII for the Playstation 2. An enhanced remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, was released in 2007 as part of Square Enix's Ivalice Alliance project.[5] Overall, the game received positive reviews from gaming magazines and websites and has become a cult classic since its release.

  • bad port/sprite is bad.

  • @Cloudstrrifeee Twinees is working on a kickass brand new one!

  • Auuughhh wtf is this anime shit doing in mah games

This is an outrage. Don't cross that line bro, or you will regret it

  • @87Julius Next up: Goku

  • Marche doesn't seem evil enough...

This is the greatest villain of all time we're talking about.

Although, I'll admit, Rock-filled snowballs is pretty nasty.

  • @GigaSeifer Marche is evil, that's why I love him. He breaks children's dreams of happiness!

  • The interactions between Marche and Ramza seem very much out of place...."Go home kid!" Doesn't sound like something the soft hearted Ramza would say. "You're in Ivalice" Ramza automatically knows Marche is from another dimension? Seems to me it would be better if he said something else...perhaps about Marche needing to be wary of the battlefield, or something like children should stay back out of danger. Marche appears, Ramza - "Hm? A child here of all places?" or something...needs polishing.

  • "Guarded" .-.

  • Wordless, your mod rocks dude!

  • Does this work off of psx emulator? how do i play this tactics with patch?

  • great idea but poor execution but i love the skill of the wanderer.

  • Is there any chance of a wotl version coming out? Or maybe a tutorial on getting the wotl script onto the psx version?

  • "Hey kid, this is the real Ivalice, now get the fuck out."

  • @Archael7 I honestly don't see why you don't get more recognition for this hack. The original game was great in my opinion, and you think there would be more people out there looking for this kind of stuff. Just wanted to say thanks for the time and effort. I can only imagine how long it took. Admittedly, I've only got halfway through the first chapter in about 5 hours of playtime. The difficulty is frustrating, but rewarding. I just hope my controller lasts through the game..haha.

  • with all these admittedly awesome special characters being added, i'm starting to wish that there was a hack in place to increase the size of your party. has anyone made any progress on that?

  • Honestly guys, it's not even bad. His sprite is decent and the dialogue isn't too messy, although it could be polished a bit. If anything needs a bit of work I'd say his picture needs it the most. It's not a bad picture, but it's not very Marche-y.
