It's a good scene but I can see why they cut it out. It doesn't make much sense within context of the film.

I think it's a deleted scene cut from the original, I think you have to get the blu-ray Collector's edition to watch it.

What movie was this in? I watched Escape from NY and don't remember this scene.

I have a few threories about this. Taylor was already wounded, and wanted Snake to run, knowing he'd only slow his old Lt. down. He even yells at Snake to run. But it shows a human side to Snake, charging up to help his brother in arms, only to see him wasted by the USPF, then be arrested. It was a sacrifice on both sides. I loved this scene.

The novel and the script Sgt. William "Bill" Taylor was the only one who survived the Leningrad Ruse with Snake. I think he was Snake's second in command.
