This is kinda painful to watch. Lots of young energy and enthusiasm yet no experiance and obviously no one else with any idea around to give this poor young guy some advice! I remember being equally as foolish when I was 21.
Not really an efficient use of energy. That sod needs to turned. Use a horse or a Cub Cadet, a Gravely two-wheel tractor, etc. to operate a turning plow. Once the bed is established then use your back with a shovel or broadfork. A tiller will eventually create hardpan. A John Deere is way over-priced. I guess the green paint raises the price. Does it make the soill better?
NOT what the Glaser hoe is for. This guy is obviously inexperienced with gardening. Rent or borrow a tractor with a plow. Plow everything under in the fall. Then throw as much OLD manure as you can get and let it sit over winter. Then in the spring till it all with the biggest tiller you can rent or borrow. This guy is just wasting his time. But I guess you have to learn somehow.
