  • When it gets wavey on the edges you can fix it by skipping stitches.

If it is wavey all the way around mark where you start and then try work into two loops and then skip one and continue all the way to where you marked it. Then decide if you should go around again.

Do this till it lays flat or starts to tighten up and then go back to the basic stich in every one.

You will get a feel for it!

If it gets too bowled, add an extra stich in every couple of loops.

    Just be consistant :)

  • @greengackle

great video! I'm attempting to create a rug, but I am using the stretched t-shirt yarn that has the sides rolled in. im assuming it'll still work? one question: how do you end the rug though? also, cute dog! I might create a rag rug for my dog!

  • Hi Thanks! Sorry for the late response.

To end the rug you simply put the loose end through it last loop of itself and pull it tight.

I always tie it one more time like I am doing my shoe laces and then hide work about 3 inches of the loose end back in to the rug.

But really anyway you knot it should be fine.

    Good luck :)

  • I am doing either a single or a double all the way around.

To make a oval rug, you make a chain but dont connect it to make the circle.

You just make a chain and the work back down one side of the chain and back up the other.

Then you work around it in the same fashion...

I will post a video for it this week

  • my next project..so excited to make a rug out of my kiddies old babies clothes..and im a pro at crochet..thanks so much for this :)

  • Thank you sooo much. I have never crocheted before and really wanted to attempt this rug. Well I have been around so many different places that really speak to people who already understand the basics of crocheting which I didn't. My rug as turning into a cap or bowl of some sort and none of the sites explained what I needed to do to correct. You are absolutely a blessing because I can finally see it turning into a round rug. Thank you so much.

  • Great Job! Really enjoyed this video
