Overview:
Each year, about four million people in the United States are admitted to intensive care units with complex medical problems that require the highest level of care. This program covers medical advances in critical care treatment that are enabling people to survive serious health challenges. Topics include including the latest thinking about ventilator support as well treatment for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

Dr. Giora Netzer, a specialist in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Netzer is also an assistant professor of medicine and epidemiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

  • Haha. Lungs into the air. That was awesome. And he didn't even miss a beat. Probably died laughing later.

    Very explanatory interview. Helped me understand some things that hadn't been explained to me before.

  • "A ventilator is basically a machine that brings lungs into the air"...That was cute! LOL Wish we could see some video cuts from an ICU while they were talking...The whole video would be more interesting then.
