Part 2 of 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVA8Qk4n-UE

"The Hellraiser Chronicles: Lifebringer" is a 2008 Hellraiser fanfilm made in the UK. It's the second to use the Hellraiser Chronicles titles, following "A Question of Faith". This film was made with pretty much no budget and with the kind contributions of numerous Hellraiser fans. Hellraiser fans from www.cenobite.com and the Hellraiser forum directed, acted, provided effects and otherwise contributed to the movie.

The production was plagued with a lot of problems, loss of resources and technical errors and whilst these are reflected in the quality of the final film we think we overcame most of the set backs. For a project made out love of the material, for fans and by fans, we are proud of what we achieved. This is a lower quality version for youtube.

This is an original story, influenced by the EPIC Hellraiser comics of the early ninties that greatly expanded the series. Only Doug Bradley can play Pinhead and we did not wish to emulate him and, after all, there is much more to Hell than its chief Cenobite.

Anyway, i hope you enjoy the short, and will always appreciate constructive criticism.

  • excellent title sequence, sadly the only part of the film worth watching.

I respect your ambition but i think making a fan film for such a franchise as this requires alot more attention than it seems was applied to this. Terrible acting, terrible plot. i like how you've tried to recreate some of the imagery of the first two films in the opening though. This may be the worst fan film ive seen but hopefully you'll make something awesome next!good luck!

  • @aaronwhitebooga Sorry to hear it, of course, although I will say I've seen *far* worse fanfilms out there, even sayign so myself. Can you say what you didn't like about the story? obviously everyone has different tastes but it's always good to know why someone might think it terrible. I should point out though, a LOT of attention and time was put into this, despite endless setbacks and problems. :)

  • @bameballs the faustian storyline has been done to DEATH in the hellraiser mythos but i dont see anything wrong with revisting it if you can bring something new. That could be ignored if not for the terrible editing/sound/camerawork/acting. Then again, making short films is familiar ground to me, maybe i'm being too harsh to a film made by casual digital filmmakers. A far stronger example of a film like this would be 'no more souls'. you should check it out!

  • @aaronwhitebooga That's a little unfair since NMS was made by the effects team behind the Hellraiser films using leftover props and stuff from the last shoot they did. It's visually good though, although the story goes against the wider mythology, where I take my inspiration. That said, I'd defend Lifebringer's narrative on the lines that of all the films, stories and comics, none of them have ever done a Cenobite specifically in a teacher role.

  • It didn't suck. I don't understand why some are complaining about it. It's not THAT bad. And if you don't like it, either you just dont comment on it, or try to give some more constructive comments than just: "Damn, this sucks bigtime" or something.

  • @Motorskallen Thank you for the fair comments. It's got a lot of positive responses elsewhere which is all we can ask for, really. :)

  • @bameballs i've seen many a story like this on 'the hellbound web'. Granted, i didnt realise that about no more souls. You seem so concerned about the script, when its the basic rules of editing and camerawork that should be the issue here. Some of the shots dont match at all, making the film seem like some hellraiser fans pissing about on a raining weekend. I've yet to make a fan film though, so props to you for actually getting it done. are you planning another?

  • i just dont get the story line but okok its good

  • @joemann1313 We couldn't afford Doug Bradley on our budget. But seriously, that's because didn't want to do a pale imitation of Doug, when there's so much more to Hellraiser, over a hundred stories and comics without Pinhead.
