Using an Arduino and a Video Experimenter shield from Nootropic Design to overlay data on a video signal from an analog camera mounted on display goggles. This demo shows the capability to provide a 'heads up display' type of augmented reality for a user.
Oh, and do you know of any HUD goggles like these that have a mic on them? My dream right now is to use an ARM chip + HUD goggles + mic + software, either running Android or Debian, to be able to do ANYTHING -- programming, browsing the web, etc. Maybe a smartphone + HUD goggles is all I need!

@elimisteve I have no idea what goggles they are. Got them from a Brookstone store but they have no markings or labels at all. I would say smartphone + HUD is your best bet for your goal. Good luck!
