The Best of France

We started our long trip on 2004 August 28 to Bordeaux, driving through the Loire Valley at Tours, passing by Cognac where we visited the Chateau where King of France, Francis I, was born, and the Otard winery, then on to the Aquitaine region, and finally arriving in Bordeaux, where we had a memorable dinner in a fine restaurant fronting the cathedral of St. Andre. Then we drove to the vineyards of Bordeaux, and took a trip to Biarritz, the surfing capital of Europe, which faces the Atlantic Ocean. Then on to the Basque region bordering France and Spain.
