He proves that you can take great pics using a camera with "only" 6 megapixels.
Or check this behind the scenes video, in which his pictures are included as well

Nowadays they luckily put more energy into making the sensors better during low light situations. The only true cure there is bigger photo receptors but there is allot to improve and what can get done.

It allows you to crop more and still print out relative big.
But how bigger you print how further you step to watch the picture. Yes a small picture is for less then a foot of watching. But a big print can take 3-4 foot!

i got a $400 camera for its mega pixels and now i learn this i feel so sad.

Lol I was already aware of this, still find it funny when I hear people say: "OMG look at my new camera, it has 7.1 megapixels it's sooo good!"

Fantastic overview and it sure does make sense. I only ever take photos at 3 megapixel it more than does the job quite nicely and even when printing out at a4 size.

Great video!
megapixels don't improve quality, just increases the zoom threshold before it becomes pixilated, right?

Gah, now if they (the companies) could start competing about making the best cameras for crappy conditions (such as concerts), I'd be really happy xP
