I have almost everything that Jake ever recorded. The one I am missing, and I have seen him do it live, is the one about the 'Little Crunchy Pies'. Any chance anyone has this one?

Thank you so much for this posting. I have lost my copy of the lyrics and the official JT site is down with hacking problems at the moment. Unfortunately, not spotted in time for Remembrance Day this year.
One of the most telling songs from England's greatest wordsmith of the Twentieth Century - sadly undervalued while alive.

If there is a finer, more beautiful, poignant soliloquy written to the futility of war anywhere in the English language, then I've yet to hear it.
Jake, you were a genius. What a tragedy that you were never afforded the recognition in life that your extraordinary talent deserved.

Brilliant...brilliant ....brilliant !! . What a man.... what a voice ..... what a genius he was. If I ever get to heaven I will ask if I can sit at Jakes' table please.

I remember seeing an Arena or something similar about Jake Thackray. Is this from that?

I can't thank you enough for posting this! I'm curious how you got hold of the video. Now that Jake on the Box is no longer available on Joost, I feared I'd never get to see/hear this performance again. Along with The Prisoner (track on Jake in a Box), the best anti-war songs ever.

I'm presently getting rid of some old video tapes. Before disposing of them, I decided to view some and found a program about Jake's life that I had recorded. I know Jake still has a 'cult' following and that this track is very hard to find on his recordings. These were the prime motivations for putting the track onto this site. BTW, are you interested in Bach Bachwoman? I am: the organist Simon Preston is a favourite of mine.
