The 'history' and 'scientific facts' you refer to were produced by Argentineans whose propagandist aim has always been to undermine the legitimacy of the Mapuche Nation since their arrival upon Mapuche Wallmapu shores. Without exeption none of these claims were produced by a member of the Mapuche Nation this surely speaks for itself. Further if King Orelie was simply a deluded man why did he pose such a threat to the chilean gov of the day leading them to capture and deport him.

With all due respect, Perhaps you are unaware that the mapuche people being made up of the tehuelche, pehuenche lafkenche among others were and remain to today one nation, as mapuche people. Further King Orelie was elected by the highest mapuche nation lonkos of the period 1860's therefore who then can question his legitimacy when he was democratically elected by the higest authorities of their nation.

What a farse!

The Mapuche people were a free independent nation who had the longest standoff against Europeans in America: they fought for nearly 400 years (ca. 1540 - 1885) against Spaniards and later Chileans and Argentines. Do you sincerely believe that this wacko French king did anything. What about the Tehuelche and the Aonikenk or the Alakaluf (not to mention the Fuegian Yámana and Selknam) ? They also lived in Patagonia. The frenchman never even heard of them.

en el colegio enseñan lo mismo q vos decis. yo solamente estoy preguntando por que la hay una fundacion mapuche en inglaterra? no sera que alguien se esta aprobechando de un sentimiento nacionalista real como el mapuche e intenta crear uno sedicioso? fundar un nuevo estado dentro de chile y argentina?? la constitucion argentina respeta las naciones que viven dentro de nuestro territorio, pero a que argentino le cabe duda que la unica soberania en la patagonia es argentina?

Cualesquiera hayan sido los nombres de esos pueblos, que en su gran mayoría hablaban el mapuzugun (el idioma de la tierra) luchaban por su libertad e independencia, como hoy lo hacen en contra de la violenta opresión que son objetos por los estados de Argentina y Chile. Le recomiendo al Sr martindelmul leer la otra version de la historia, la que no se enseñan en los colegios de los paises criollos, este articulo creo le puede ser util: "La historia Mapuche está escrita por sus adversarios".

Tampoco menciona que su lucha era para mantener a la Araucania y Patagonia (hoy conocido como Wallmapu) libre del dominio extranjero, territorio indígena que se indica en el mapa de 1860 del Reino de Araucania y Patagonia y otros mapas de la época. Hoy alterado por los colonialistas chilenos y argentinos que la invadieron y masacraron a su poblacion, durante las campañas militares conocida como "Campañas del Desierto" (Argentina) y "Pacificacion de la Araucania" (Chile).

Me llamó la atención los contradictorios argumentos presentados por martindelmul que, por un lado, reconoce que los mapuches resistieron a los invasores españoles, chilenos y argentinos por casi 400 años, pero no menciona que esa resistencia solo fue posible gracias a la unidad de acción de todos los pueblos indígenas que habitaban en esa parte del Cono Sur de América.

The patagonia will be argentinean or maybe chilenian too, and there is not any doubt about it. i cant avoid asking why one of the biggest mapuche fundations is from the UK??

Your comment indicates that you are ignorant that the Tehuelche people, which in fact were several groups forming what F. Escalada called "El Complejo Tehuelche", are not part of the Mapuche. Read a bit of history and then we can talk (.e. Musters, Cox, Casamiquela etc). The Mapuche and the Tehuelche are distinct groups with their own languages, DNA and beliefs: Germans and French are more similar than Tehuelche and Mapuche. Read then we talk.
