I spotted this fusion of two local bands playing in front of the burned out Villains used clothing store on a sunny Sunday in late February.

The Haight/Ashbury neighborhood in San Francisco is perhaps best known for its influence on the hippie movement and the Summer of Love in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Today it has become far more popularized and is now a place for tourists to come snap a few photos, buy some overpriced trinkets, stare at the remaining hippies, catch a performance by a street-musician and head onwards. Still, it remains an interesting mix of old and new, as many of the street's residents have been there for decades and are more than willing to let you know how much better "The Haight" was back in the day.
