SC2 Protoss music is darker maybe because of all the shit that's happened to the Protoss and all those prophecies. It kind of reflects with how much the Protoss have radically altered the way they see themselves. also, dark templars. the inclusion of the original theme feels like how the protoss somehow still latch on to their nobility and pride.
