The theater is a place you can dream. On April 13th 2012 at Manuel Artime Theater, 50 individuals - medical students and faculty, as well as public health students at the University of Miami - hosted a show, themed "Cabaret", for the public. The vision behind the event was three-tiered: to enrich the arts on the medical campus; to create a forum where talented individuals could share their passions; and to begin a tradition of a self-sustainable event that could not only fund itself through ticket sales, but give any profits to deserving children's art programs in the Miami community. "Cabaret", three months in the making, was also a showcase of student creativity: all dance performances were originally choreographed and several musical performances were non-traditionally based, bringing in unexpected accompaniment. Remember, these are not art school students; in fact, only one grand rehearsal was allowed...the night before the actual show. Enjoy this video montage tribute of footage from practices over the months, rehearsal, and personal interviews.
It's the Cabaret!
