in race trim that puts out 300bhp N/A a 405 mi16 in race trim puts out 330-350. and also just to point out, i have an e30 with 220,000 miles on it thats putting out 220bhp. VTEC IN A BMW IS WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL!!! a vtec in a mini would be cool

Yes, the mustang is faster around a track, cheaper when new, etc. What I want to say is you can't make a legitimate comparison between two engines solely using performance numbers of two cars whose only real similarity is rear wheel drive. You must consider everything from differences in drivetrain loss, useable powerband, specific output, etc.

I never said one was better than the other, just that you're oversimplifying the comparison between the two.

@carsguitarsbourbon thats why the v6 is faster on the truns as well? stops faster ..yes .. on the 2011 lighting lap the s200 did it in 3.15 as thv6 did it in 3.12..all i am saying is the s200 was around 35k thats more then the v8 mustang ,,and yet the s2k is doing nothing better then the v6.. i might be wrong .. but if so can you tell me wat the s2k is doing better? and with facts i can look up?

@mustang661c, just because the v6 mustang has a quicker 0-60 time and the automatic with a 2.xx rear end is advertised as getting 31 mpg doesn't tell you anything about how good its engine is vs. the f20c. Weight, gearing, redline, torque band, etc. all have a tremendous impact on how a car performs vs. another, even ones with engines making the same peak numbers. To simplify the comparison to acceleration numbers and mpg is a terrible injustice to both engines IMO.
