no, thats chicken of the woods if you found it on a log, but if its on the ground its prolly jack o lantern...chicken of the woods is edible but requires thorough cooking, jack o lantern is not edible and will cause severe gastric distubance

where did you find these at? i find some around oak trees in my yard but it seems they only come back every other year--they are delicius to eat!!-how do you store them?i tried freezing some but they seem to come out mushy-any tips would be helpful-thanks!!great video!!!!where do you get spores at you were mentioning??

Two hikers describe the much-prized Hen of the Woods (Grifola frondosa) specimen they found along the Nipmuck Trail in the Yale Woods in northeastern CT. I just took the video and am out of touch with the "experts." I suggest Googling for the info you're looking for. Thanks for the inquiry.
