I am so tired of Al Gore bashers - most of which are the same people who deny global warming and try to convince others it's a myth. Thanks to Al Gore people are waking up to the damage we have done. Look at all that's happened this year - when will we all wake up and do our part. You claim his house uses more energy than you do - but I'm sure he saves mroe in other ways than you do and the fact that he cared about the planet enough to take a stand when it wasn't popular has done more good!

Is the USA too gutless to try to operate independantly of foreign oil supplies?

What is so amazing is that the USA is a communist country, with subsidies for oil, wheat, corn, and many other products.

USA is the lead country against communism, but is the country most successfully using communist ideals to further their ecconomy!

I wonder what would happen if USA tried to live purely off domestic food and energy!

I completely agree Mr . Gore- the common thread is the reliance on carbon based fuels- I understand if business is continued as usual the US will have 80% of its oil will be imported by 2020... Peak oil is going to be HUGE! Are we already too close to avoid major disruptions as the Hirsch report states! Keep up the great work Mr. Gore! I agree with the need for change! keep up the great work! People we are GOING to change, let's make it so we can continue prosperity well into the future. cheers

Nassim Taleb gives us a great view of the limits of our ability to predict the future... it strikes me as odd that climate scientists talk about the non linear nature of the climate system yet when they show us graphs they just connect the dots from one location straight out on a linear line to show how bad things could get if we don't change- I agree we need to change but the science seems to be too nebulous to drive the change required- peak oil is far better to drive change... same solutions

Well, at least in my opinion, oil drilling will cause pollution and ecological damage. Also, if we just keep drilling and drilling, USA will never be able to become independant of fossil based fuels.
