ToolRank reviews the cool new Bosch GCM12SD Axial Glide 12 inch miter saw. Because of the new glide system, the saw has a much smaller footprint and takes up much less space on the workbench. http://www.tool-rank.com/index.php?option=com_tag&task=tag&tag=gcm12sd

  • Nice review however I think the top piece you thought was for a future laser might be a bad place unless Bosch has a few extra million dollars for the law suit after everyone using it looses there eye sight. I'm sure its great saw. Good video.

  • @xfup I don't know why you would think that. The DeWalt miter saw has a laser in the same basic place. Anyways, I think the chances of a laser addon are low.

  • @xfup I'm a certified and licensed Laser technician. I setup and perform Laser lightshows for the public. By FDA law you cannot use anything over a 5mw laser power on any products. 5mw is no stronger than a flashlight. There is no way you would go blind from that. Besides, they would have it mounted angled down onto your workpiece, NOT concentrated to your eye. I use Laser's that are 5000mw or 5 watts. Now that's power, and yes that can cause harm.

  • The Bosch GCM12SD is a great shop mitre saw, but on the job site I`ll take Dewalt`s DWS780 Or Milwaukee`s 6955-20. Great Review Thanx.

  • Wow, most complete and well filmed feature review of a tool I have ever seen! Well done!.

    I was thinking it might fit in your fathers truck bed with the saw tilted to 45 degrees. Nice insight on the right side depth limitation, I was looking at it the shop the other day and was do giddy I never noticed. Cheers.

  • great review but nobody ever cuts a freshly soaked pressure treated 4 by 4 on these things. would love to see the real power of the machine.

  • Very small cut capacity on 45 bevel on right side, Motor and drive get in way ONLY 4 inches

  • omg look at the like bar it`s totaly green(;

  • Well done video showing positive and negative issues. So many videos play music and add a few talking points which is almost useless. You explained this saw very well with a well thought out format. I wish ALL youtube videos were half as good as this one.

    You get an A++++++ In my book.

    Very best regards,

  • A laser is an option in the UK, and indeed it is placed exactly where u mentioned it could. The UK´s version also has an improved blade, i believe.

  • great review - the comments about the vertical base hitting the motor on the right side and the height (regarding truck tonneau covers) was insightful. Could just lock it in the down position I suppose. Great review. Thanks

  • @xfup I think you're right because I don't see any electric connections for addons. the dewalt machines have 4 electric connectors (i think) for the laser / light devices.
