This song is the property of Saddle Creek Records, and Bright Eyes. All rights go to them. With that being said, Enjoy.
-------------------------------------

Lyrics:

You follow the footsteps echoes leading down a hall to a room.
There is music playing tiny bells with moving parts.
Here the shadows make things ugly, an effect quite undesirable.
And the bold and yellow daylight grows like ivy across the wall
and it bounces off of the painted porcelain, a tiny dancing doll.
Her body spins, as she pirouettes again, the world suddenly seems small.
On an off white, subtle morning you stretch your legs in the front seat.
And the road has made a vacuum where our voices used to be.
And you lay your head onto my shoulder,
pour like water over me.
So if I just exist for the next ten minutes of this drive that would be fine.
And all these trees that line this curb would be rejoicing and alive.
Soon all the joy that pours from everything makes fountains of your eyes because you finally understand the movement of a hand waving good-bye.

  • @adamjcantu I too, find this song beautiful. His imagry is so intriguing and inspiring. Although, I must say that the last line has to be my favorite, perhaps of everything he's written. Thank you for commenting by the way, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

  • I've been so afraid to listen to his music for years.

I loved it when I was 14, before a lot of the kids I knew even began to find music they truly enjoyed.

Then I hit a point in my life when hearing his music just made me want to die, so I stopped listening.

Now I'm 20 years old, and I know for a fact that Conor Oberst is my single favorite musician ever, and I'm pissed that I let myself believe that these lyrics weren't beautiful.

  • @MissHardyOfficial I know exactly what you mean - it's like you took the words right out of my mouth. This whole album does that to me. I love it but shit man...the time in my life where I listened to it all the time was a totally fucked up, lost time for me as well...

  • Soon all the joy that pours from everything makes fountains of your eyes because you finally understand the movement of a hand waving good-bye.

  • check out the difference of size between the left and right side of his face,..wtf

  • At first i wasnt digging the song til i read a comment about how the last line was great. I finished the song. It was better than great

  • I feel like this is too pure and beautiful and perfect to be on the internet, or for me to be allowed to even attempt to describe it. It's so calming and tranquil and just completely pure somehow. I feel privileged to hear it, and I've never felt this about a song before.

  • @CharlieMemorial I love how you can make such a deep, serious masturbation reference.

  • This music is perfect for writing to. Not abrasive enough to distract me. Melodic, peaceful, and the bursts of tempo and build are perfect to inspire. Many thanks to the artists and to the person who posted it. :)

  • this is fuckinggggg me up... bringing out some things that lay dormant... haven't listened to this, completely forgotten that it even existed until now when i just noticed the familliar title..i feel like a lost little girl again;; =/

  • I love the lyrics and emotion Conor puts into his music.

It's not really always my style of sound, but the words are

always beautiful, that's what hooks me to his songs.

His voice fits with it perfect.

The last sentence of this song is an all-time favorite.
