yeah but the engine cant manuver in tight places like the ambu can....it just seems pointless to me to tie up a truck on a run like that.

No. Typically people move out of the way alot faster for an Engine, or a ladder then they do for an ambulance. I've been to large cities and seen it quite afew times.

thats retarded, since the engine isnt nearly as knimble as the wambulance...all the engine would be doing is slowing down there response

Sometimes when there is a truly critical patient a engine will escort them and clear traffic.
