Kit Vested was CRAZED! I vividly remember being a little kids and watching those scenes at my grandmother's house, where Kit poisoned Sara McEntire's coffee, and she actually seemed to take pleasure in doing so! Nancy Addison was great in that she played other characters on other shows who were nothing like Kit, and was equally convincing in each role.
I wish I had direct first hand memories of Kit Vested, but for some reason I don't. I remember my mom having on TGL during that time -- but I must not have been paying any attention. I did get to listen, recently, the scenes you mention about Kit poisoning Sara's coffee on the World of Soap Themes' 70th anniversary salute to GL and even in listening to the audio from the show you are right about how Addison played Kit as CRAZED.
Especially interesting to listen to was when Kit held the gun to Sara's head as Joe had to watch (before Joe would get a hold of the gun in a struggle and shoot KIt dead) and Kit yelling at Joe about Sara, "But she has to die!"
I remember, she snuck into Sara's house and there was coffee in a stovetop percolator (this was, after all, 1974, before most people had Mr. Coffee), and she put some kind of poison in the pot, and then there was a blackboard in the kitchen that said "Home Sweet Home", and Kit took a piece of chalk and underlined 'Sweet", and began laughing. CRAZED PSYCHO!
That must have been the April 1974 (I think if my memory serves me about WoST, April 22, 1974) episode right before the 4 episodes (April 23 - 26, 1974) that were highlighted on WoST in audio. Wish that WoSTBrian had had that episode to air at the time of the 70th anniversary. Thanks very much for the information about that episode -- again too bad we don't seem to have any surviving vid. featuring Addison as Kit Vested.
