  • From 7:30 it just shows how pathetic the research standards of the VU are.

It's too bad one of the universities in our country has fallen this low.

  • @AnOm75 "Van Oosten is known as an arrogant prick"

and he is a corrupt thug as well, working hard to keep the people on drugs and in wheelchairs!

  • @Wheelchairavenger And it's crazy that even in the US we have to fight for such a simple thing to be corrected. Thank God I found my IR here in the states practically in my back yard. I've been walking now for 6.5 months unaided, I have had my balance back that long as well as my ability to use a bathroom without assistance. Over the past 6.5 months I can walk, ride a bike and jump! I can even do step areobcis and walk up the stairs.

  • Dr. Filippi has received research support from Bayer-Schering Pharma, Biogen- Dompé AG, Genmab A/S, Merck Serono, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Fondazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla (FISM), and Fondazione Mariani; consultancy and speaking honoraria from Bayer Schering Pharma, Biogen-Dompé AG, Genmab A/S, Merck Serono, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.

  • Dr Khan has received research support from the National MS Society (NMSS), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Teva Neuroscience, Genzyme Corporation, Biogen Idec, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and Acorda Therapeutics; consultancy and speaking honoraria from Teva Neuroscience, Biogen Idec, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and Bayer Healthcare.

  • @9gabbycats Don't forget he US have a powerful pharma-industry as well :(

This van Oosten is not an idiot at all: the "studies" were carefully designed to fail!

They have been published as "no correlation between MS and CCSVI" in Annales of Neurology.

Google it + "conflict of interest"

  • Angioplasty for CCSVI doesn't need any research: it isn't a new drug, it is a routinely performed operation in cardiologiy and phlebology since 30 years...

Stents could be risky in veins, but dilatation not at all, it's a fact!

Patients tested negative for CCSVI should be immediately tested for Lyme disease, Lupus, Sjogren's Disease, Lour Gehrig's Disease, ... that are frequently misdiagnosed as MS. Then, the rate for CCSVI-positive (real)-MS-patients would come close to 100%

  • @WskyGrl73 "Was he paid by the MS Societies or the drug companies?"

No doubt, and these "studies" have been designed to fail,.

Just check Prof. Hartung conflicts of interest involving: "BayerSchering, BiogenIdec, BioMS, Genzyme, MerckSerono, Novartis, Teva, SanofiAventis.“

  • PROBLEM: A PATIENT CURED IS A CUSTOMER LOST!! Modern pharmaceutical companies know this, it isn't in their economic interest to cure you!

SOLUTION: A health care system in which Doctors are paid only when you are healthy!! Additional, the last thing a convalescing patient needs when faced with a debilitating disease is the financial burden of the health care costs!!

A HEALTHY PATIENT A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!... Every body wins

  • terrible that there are scientists who don't know how to properly conduct studies and report acurately. Thank God I live in the USA! How half assed and backwards and he sounds like a bumbling idiot!

  • IT IS ABOUT STRUCTURAL DEFECTS IN NECK VEINS - NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION TO CORRECT IT. - BUT HEY, IF IT HELPS MSS SYMPTOMS - WHAT THE HELL! CAN'T STOP IT NOW - BETTER BALLOONING, BETTER STENTS, BETTER PROCEDURES!!!! DOWN THE ROAD!!!! IT IS CALLED - " BLOOD FLOW STUPID".
