Hurricane Irene dumped 5-6" of rain on Kent, CT in a little more than 12 hours. Kent Falls State Park and the Housatonic River were swollen beyond their banks. The main problems in Kent were rainfall related but there was some wind also. Trees in the area including the CT Antique Machinery Assoc. Museum came down due to saturated ground around the root system.

  • Amazing footage. A friend of mine said it looks like the rapids of Niagara Falls.

  • I go there a few times a year to photograph what I think is the most beautiful waterfall in New England. In fact, I love to drive up and down Rte. 7 from Massachusetts. Thank for you for posting this. Hope all is back to normal by the fall.
