"Earth Rotation" Live Wallpaper on my HTC Magic

My HTC Magic "32B" phone is running OpenEclair v1.0. It's the first Android v2.1 ROM, from source, of the OpenEclair Project. One of the cool feature of Android v2.1 is "live wallpapers" with animated backgrounds. Surprisingly, they have no apparent affect on system performance.

@vikramistikku It is in the Android Market. It is now called "Earth Live Wallpaper". You can also get additional map packs for other planets - both real and imagined.

hey can you tell me how you got the speech option in your google search? im on 2.1 and i dont have it

@bendirkss Have you installed the Google "Voice Search" app? It's in the market, I think. You may also want to check out the "Svox" text-to-speech engine, also free in the Market. There is also a voice to speech setting in the Menu -> Settings. Something like "Voice Input and Output"? It's been a while since i was on Android v2.1, but it should work.

does OpenEclair support ext4?

EXT Tools was added in v1.1.1......so you could try it. If you have an HTC G1 then you can use APS2SD. If you have a MyTouch3G or HTC Magic, then APS2SD is disabled...and any ext partition is then effectively useless.

How do I get live wallpaper on my phone I don't know much about this stuff but all I want to know is how?-i have a HTC magic 3g fender

@linuxluver thanks. I don't have the voice input anf output option though. And I don't have the tethering or WiFi hotspot option on my magic. Is that just the phone not offering those options?

Yes. The overal system is very stable. The live wallpapers fail every now and again, but you just reload them. The latest version (as of first week of Feb 2010) of the Earth Rotation live wallpaper is very stable. The previous version bombed now and again if you used the "dynamic" map showing real-time daylight.
