  • Im a big fan :) Im from the Philippines by the way. I am very interested with the less famous (to other countries) states in america ( alabama, OK, Ten, Montana, Colorado to name a few) and your videos offer a good glimpse why I liked these states in the first place. Thanks Man! :)

*Btw, I also love road trips, which makes this more sweeter!

  • Hey thanks for watching and I'm glad you are enjoying the rides.

  • @Freewayjim do most rural highways have interstate speed limits

  • @Jean1juan Depending on the area, 55 on rural highways in the east is pretty normal.

  • Hope you enjoyed this road as much as I do. Looks great, but I have never seen it from the left lane...And my speed limits are lower than yours, still 55 for trucks.

  • Thanks for the info, I'm really surprised Rand McNally was so late to show that road in the big atlas.

  • The road definitely continued past US 127, and going back over my old TN state official maps, it has done such since at least the mid-50s (as then-TN 8).

First map I have that shows TN 111 is the '95 map (I don't have the '94 map, so it may or may not have shown up then). The '97 map shows the 4-lane on the ridge climbs. The interchange at 127 doesn't appear until the 2003 map (even though it existed in '99). 2004 map shows all 4-lanes, while the 2005 map shows the full freeway.

  • Thanks!

There are lots of other interesting places in America that don't get much attention.

The car in the median was turning around and it's not legal, has there been a police car in the area he would have been ticketed.

  • Great landscapes. In fact it is quite surprising for me (being from Spain, Europe) to see the variety of the US. For some reason we only hear of California, NYC, Miami and sometimes Texas, it's a pity.

BTW, what's that car doing in the median at 4:30? Is he triying to turn? Is that allowed?

  • The TRUCK speed limit is 55 on a smaller sign below the 60 MPH sign.

Interesting, I looked at all my RM atlases and the first time it showed up was 2001, 2 lane road on the ridge, 4 lane below it, then it was all freeway by the 2006 edition so those were the dates I went with.

When you were there could you tell if the road continued past US-127 or was it being built?
