We love our Berkey Light water filter. It needs no electricity, no water pressure and the 2 filters that ship with it will purify up to 6,000 gallons.

  • It is really hard to remove fluoride from any water. This filter claims to do that, but if anyone has done any independent tests from the beginning to end or in the year time frame it would be great.

Since you get rain water you should be ok. No fluoride in there.

  • You're absolutely right. And I've been trying to warn everyone I know, that is walking blindly through the Matrix. Where's Superman when you need him? LOL

  • @ReprogramurMind If you go to the bigberkey website, the fluoride filters are a little extra, I think $40 for two. Well worth it IMO if you're filtering tap water, but unnecessary otherwise. Rain water....whodathunkit? Falls out of the sky and it's free.

  • none taste different clean yeum

  • just watch out that a bird doesnt shit in it one day loll

  • I am getting fucking sick of YOUTUBE SLOWING DOWN VIDEOS

  • that filtration takes too long.

  • Thanks for the review! Great video. Im going to get one now.

  • According to the instructions you should have the filters to the back and not over the pouring spout.

  • Are the black Berkey filters rated to filter out viruses? Viruses can be as small as 25nm in size, and I am skeptical that these ceramic filters are capable of filtering out something that small.

I would like to have an emergency water backup system and I want something that does it all (I don't want to add chemicals like iodine). The "LifeSaver bottle" supposedly has a 15nm pore size which is enough to filter out every known microbiological contaminant. I would rather have the Berkey though.

  • is there a berkey filter that cools the water as well? a google turned up nothing save for some other brands but I'd rather stick with berkey since it seems to be the best for the price.

  • Distilled water is minus any beneficial nutrients (minerals) naturally found in water. So as long as you just want to quench your thirst and nothing else I suppose it's okay.

Distilled water is better used for batteries.
