It has been scientifically proven that cannabis has a wide range of therapeutic uses, including relieving nausea, increasing appetite, reducing muscle spasms, and relieving chronic pain. Two former surgeons general, Joycelyn Elders and Jesse L. Steinfeld, have supported the medical use of cannabis.

Thousands of patients and their doctors have found cannabis to be useful in treating the symptoms of AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, and other serious conditions. Please support our efforts to pass a medical cannabis law in the state of Illinois.

  • Why allow people to suffer.... If we have the answer and the cure then the government should stand behind us and people in need of help should be able to have a legal access to this magical medicine.....

  • Cannabis cannot cure; however, it does help reduce the symptoms of the disease. It also helps reduce the symptoms or side effects of many of the "legal" drugs prescribed.

    Thank you for your comment.

  • It has helped get off all my perscribed medication too. Such as Zoloft, Adderall and Clonodine. I was constatly having to go to the doctor to get my dosage changed because with the zoloft and adderall I was emotionaly one extreme or the other and the side effects were just overwhelming. With one little plant I was able to get the treatment I was looking for all along, with little to no side effects and I was quit taking my meds which were up to 5 times a day. Legalize medical marijuana in IL now

  • We are glad to hear that you are feeling better. Thank you for your comments.

  • Thank you for your comments & support.

While we have great hope that our Alternative Medicine bill will pass this year (search SB2865 @ ilga dot gov), medical cannabis is currently illegal in IL.

Julie has been working as an advocate in IL for a few years now. She has had enough of the hypocrisy and has come out of the closet, so to speak.

If you know of any other patients in IL, please have them contact us. Together we can remove the sick & dying from the drug-war battlefield.

  • It is a fucking discrace for the gov. to say that these sick & dying patients don't know what there talking about. That they are simply lying and not being honest and are just trying to score some weed. Thats unbelievable LEGAIZE NOW!

  • I have posted this up in our forum at the Legalise Cannabis Alliance UK site, as we need this information to be shared world wide.

  • Well said

  • @heavenlycharm86 weed is illegal, and it still winds up in teenagers hands, pipes, and pee. if weed is legalized people probably wont smoke it as much as they would if its illegal.

  • Thank you for sharing your story. People like you have definitely made an impact on the presidents decision to stop going after people using medical marijuana. Now hopefully soon they will leave the plant alone period and stop all the false propaganda against the use of a plant. By the way I hope you are doing well and you are continuing to stay positive

  • money is a system..pot will prolly never be legalized for casual use it'd complicate the money system what people dont realize is that the government still benefits from the black market!!! in terms of medical use i vote yes on that one but they should not be allowed 2 drive and they should have to have like a license for it or somethin so it wouldnt end up in a teenagers hands or somethin...but who knows what will happen i think no matter that they so it wont work even

  • smoke up

  • It is discusting what the medical community & "big pharma" are doing to people that do not know better. I had a patient last year on fourteen (14) differnet meds! It was like a newspaper puzzle. One medication to do this & two to take away the side effects of the first.

Everytime I am visiting a friend outside of the city (like on a hobby farm) - I hear the helicopters or small aircraft searching for as MANY as 4 (FOUR) plants.

I think that the MILLIONS of dollars could be better spent!

  • RIGHT ON!

  • many differnt reason for legalization
