That is not a 292 or a 272 Y block.
It appears to be an FE engine. 352,360,390,428. It may also be a FT which is a heavy duty FE.
Distributor is on the rear of a Y folks. I know I set timing on one today.

It's a 292 (180 hp). I had a F350 just like it. What a beast!

Nice old truck!! I would say if it's a v8 its a 292 not a 272. I'm trying to get my hands on a 1960 Ford f-250 right now. It's been sitting behind a family members house since 1985 (which is longer than I've been alive!)
