Based on The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. From the Seekers, The Fire Balloons chapter.
A missionary expedition of Episcopal priests from the Earth anticipates sins unknown to them on Mars. Instead, they meet ethereal creatures glowing as blue flames in crystal spheres, who have left behind the material world, and thus have escaped sin.
@ jnichols3: Maybe you're thinking of Lucifer, Baltar's robot henchman. He was voiced by Jonathan Harris (Lost In Space's evil Dr. Smith) whose voice has the same fey qualtity as McDowall's.
McDowall is usually a great actor, but I just wanted to slap his character silly in this vignette.

Roddy McDowall reminds me so much of Baltar from Battlestar Galactica

3:40 to 5:50 Thanks for posting this. Can you also post the part where he's in the church and "jesus" appears? Can't imagine tv shows like this ever again now-they got away w/stuff like this then! This is great stuff! You ever wonder why there's so much censorship and political correctness--so no one can question religion, why else!

For me this was the most intriguing act in The Martian Chronicles.
