Bodies and soul explores the relation between self-destruction, health and creation through the portrayal of Joe, a 48 year old ex-heroine junkie, sick with AIDS, who has been working out at the gym for 18 years, five days a week. While we follow his fitness routine in the Lower East Side, Joe talks about his past during the punk-rock period, his photographs and writings, his struggle to become creative again, and the balance one needs to have when treating one's body and soul.
Bodies and Soul tackles the theme of disorder and order in our modern societies, questioning the impact of an increase of order, wealth and rationality.
It has been screened at the exhibition "If You See Something Say Something" (New York, May 2006) and at the Create Carolina Festival (June 2006).
