    the penny bridge was further down the valley and was blown up in about 1975 or so this is a different place but not far away. your right though about paying a penny to cross...

  • When i was younger it was called the penny bridge I was told in hard times people payed a penny to walk along and throw themselves off. Nice huh.

  • This must have been part of the line from Whitby to Saltburn? I remember walking under it on the Cleveland Way.
