This video therefore looks at the environmental aspects of computing, and is presented by Christopher Barnatt, author of ExplainingComputers.com, and Associate Professor of Computing and Organizations in Nottingham University Business School.

  • Where did you get the figure of 30% reduction in energy usage from adoption of energy efficient coding from? Interesting overview of the main issues in Green Computing. Thanks.

  • See the "Energy Efficient Coding" part of the "Green" page on my ExplainingComputers website for a link regarding the 30%. I can't add the "dot com" to the end of my website address here or post the link itself or YouTube would eat this reply! :-)

  • So he moves oddly when he talks, it's nonetheless a very informative video.

  • worst fucking video ever

  • what about Virtual DEsktop computing such as pano logic , Ncomputing , Wyse and a host of other solutions. Seems sharing computing power with 30 users consuming 5 watts per devices with a 110 watts host is very green

  • @greensleeves18 it gets better, just mute the sound and see the way he moves, LOL

  • he looks like a typical computer nerd
