Quote by the HSUS: HSUS feels that undomesticated and wild animals -- those animals that have not been raised, bred, and genetically adapted over a period of centuries to live in close proximity to humans -- may pose a threat to the local ecosystem, may carry dangerous pathogens, and may be a danger in and of themselves. For those reasons, HSUS opposes private ownership of endangered species, undomesticated animals, and all reptiles.

Along the same lines, HSUS discourages keeping parrots, macaws, cockatoos, and toucans because they are not longstanding domesticated species."

My goal was to cover the aspect of this debacle that seems to not have been looked at by many and I think is more important than what others have been concentrating on. Due to file size limitations on YouTube, I have focused primarily on how the recent Final Rule to the Lacey Act banning the interstate trade and importation of the Burmese python, yellow anaconda, and the two African python sub-species as injurious wildlife occurred. There was a lot more that could have been covered but this video is based on the premise that most are aware of what a felony is and the implications of committing a felony. I also didn't get into the economic impact or the potential danger invasive species or the truthful lack thereof by the other "Eight" exists as I believe this has been proven by USARK.

Furthermore, the "ban" does not prohibit the keeping, breeding, in State sales or exportation of the four "banned" snakes. At the conclusion of this video you will see why more than ever we need to support USARK and why there was no voting process, campaign or legal procedure USARK could have taken to prevent the recent final rule to the Lacey Act by the Dept. of Interior. Caveat: I'm not a lawyer or a politician but I researched some of these things and wanted to share my findings.

  • I am from Canada however this ban has us very nervouse up here. I thank you for the awesome info and opinions and and your no fear way of spreading the news

  • @lukelightwalker I can understand you fear. When you have turncoats like this person: look up youtube user (sssssssnakeman) in Canada, you have a lot to be worried about.

  • I've a question? Are there populations of Afroks and yellow annies in ENP?

  • @NineCatsz Well....They banned yellow anacondas and Afrocs because their goal was and is the nine. Not many people keep those species and a public outcry was not a concern. They took down with them the most they could. If boas were not so popular and if not for USARK, they would of banned them as well as a "potential" threat to the environment.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe USARK not only prevented the 9 animals from being included, they got it changed from it's original draft of ALL PYTHONS down to the 9 animals.

  • @NineCatsz I would agree, USARK is our number one breth of life to attacks from the outside and they are more careful with their actions with USARK on their minds as something to contend with.

  • That sucks balls man, all us herpers should stick it to the man... regardless which reps and amphibs we keep.

  • All they needed to do was address the feral snakes (in Florida); it wasn't necessary to make it a federal thing. Spaying and neutering the feral ones would make the problem bottom out and cut it off at its source. They used a sledge hammer where a scalpel would do.

  • Someone gave Salazar that power, so someone can take it away. If it's the President, then he's who we need to talk to.

Another approach would be to change the rule that gives Salazar (one man) that singular power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Congress could change how such things are done. Then this could be reversed.

  • The women haven't got a clue, I think she was instructed to play along and hate the hobby. What is she going on about crocs flush down toilets and end in New York? I think she has watch too many movies and can't tell facts from fiction. The women definely was the worse out of the two, she should lose her job or be punish for her bias contribution and ignorance.

  • I'm not sure who is more smarmy...Wayne or the host!

  • I hate when people who are uneducated on a subject try to debate about it the smarter they try to sound the dumber they appear especially with slander based on myths. Do your homework people.

  • @ApexSerpents yes, this guy is in the same town as me. This guy tried to LIKE my FB Page on snake awarness. I too am from Canada and this is why we have to pay attention and head warning. The hype and public awareness on the so called snake man type of person had his own ideas on what we can and cannot own for pets. This is such BS on how he claims to be on our side and supports pet owners.......that is exactly the opposite. He openly admits that mores snakes should be banned.

  • i want to punch that bitch talking to him in the fucking mouth

really she got in my fucking nevers..."oh please" "give me a brake"

cunt why dont you shut the fuck up goddamn

  • So why dont we ban Pets in general all pets can be miserable and upset. Any animale can kill a human by attack, germs anyways so why are they trying to stop our passion and our love for snakes as in pythons, cause there scared of them and probably never been or dely with them before. Im sorry to say but this lady pisses me off with what the fuck she says.
