South Park BMX 1981 (local race) Pittsburgh, PA

This was one of the first local races held at the South Park BMX outdoor track. The year was 1981 and Bob Tedesco was announcing the races. I can still remember my Dad, my brother Mike and myself sitting down at our dining room table as my Dad sketched the layout for the track on a white poster board. Our long time family friend, Dave Betler, surveyed the land and staked the outline of the track prior to the machines digging and forming the track you see in this video.
