When you look at pop music today you wonder what happened - half naked, crazed, loud, no real vocals, untalented, a bloody mess. Then you look at a this.....

What a voice :) No Auto tone or those new fandangled tools they use to record artists today.... Just a beautiful lady singing a beautiful song with a beautiful voice.... You rocked Karen

a heavenly voice she had

Great arrangements by Richard..the horn at :12- :20 isn't in the original song, he added it. Karen's crisp clear voice is superb.

I saw The Carpenters live in New Jersey about 1974. Karen was no longer drumming; she stood out front and wore a long red dress. I have never heard such a beautifully expressive voice as hers and doubt if I ever will again.
I remembe I was sitting at my desk at work that Winter of 1983 when news came over the radio that she had collapsed and died. I cried then and I still cry when I hear her recorded voice, especially this song. Rest in Peace, Karen. We'll always love you.
