  • Hi, great lesson, I'm having trouble with the timing. During the verse, after the G and you go back to Am, how many bars do you play before you repeat. I'm having trouble counting how many bars of Am you play after the G...I'm guessing four, but all the lessons I've seen show it as one, but play way more than that. Is it 8 bars total?

  • intro: stay Am. verse: 2 bars Am, 1 bar G and then 1 bar Am = 1st line. 2nd & 3rd lines are the same as 1st = 3 line verse.

    For the chorus its 1 bar Am, 1 D, 1 G and 1 Am, 2 lines.

its an odd timing, its not in 4/4 but you can use the above outline to simplify, my best advice would be to play along with the original, don't worry about getting the chords right, work the timing out by strumming, its a tough one for a beginner, many beginner teachers show a simplified version.

  • @dominoJones um that's an a he played not a e?

  • First off, thanks for the vid..

But, Why do you contradict yourself in the video?

You said play an e minor 3rd line of the verse, but then dont play it later on...

Also, you were only playing the D on the 2nd line of the chorus but then change that later...

As far as I can tell.. the e-minor chord is never used (just the G for each line of the verse), and that the D is only played for the 2nd line of the chorus... I guess it comes down to how you want to play it?!?

    Still helpful, but...

  • Tune that guitar man...good class but tune it...

  • i think the playing is great but unfortunately the video sound is poor. very helpful though, thanks
