Love this song but most live recording of this song Diana always messes up the lyrics.

@SpazChat You should check out the video "Mary Wilson 2000 interview" recently posted. In it she mentions it wasn't so much about the money offered rather than the way she was approached about it by Mrs. Ross. She also wanted more input in the organization of the tour as aimperator mentions above. Mary went through being treated as less than a background singer all those years before and she did not want to be humiliated again. Sometimes not everything is about money..

I would never knock any Supremes' songs. I cannot. The 60's was my era & I grew up listening to & digging all their songs. However,this song(& I must included "Love is here & now you're gone") was always a cut above all the rest. The whole arrangement is like something out of a Broadway show or a movie score in terms of style. And the way Diana pours out of her sweet soul with the groups signature unison & harmony flair is too much. Give it another real good listen especially from 1:459 on.....!

@suedemiddleton its still beautiful !!! enjoy

This at one time was my fave Supremes' song. I was about 13 or so, but I thought it was SO cool, mixing "country", "pop", and R&B together.

@SpazChat Actually, I believe this single reached No. 9 on the all-inclusive Billboard Pop Chart. I love it, too.

Yes, I like many others have heard Diana Ross say that, many times. She likes to tell people how wonderful she is.Mary Wilson wanted some creative control, something Diana was denying to everyone but herself. She always did and always will think of herself first.

@SinclairisCool , When I was 16, I could hit those notes without any problem, but then again, I've always had a high pitched voice for a male.

@aimperator I don't understand why people like you think Diana deserves the blame for everything. Did you know that Diana offered to double the offer that Mary was going to receive to the tune of $3million OUT OF HER OWN POCKET to do the tour? But no, Mary's high-falutin and delusional self thought that wasn't enough money. What is was about is Mary didn't want to be a back up singer again. Leave it to Mary to always look at things in a negative light.
Great song, but I don't think Florence is on it. The harmonies are great, but Mary is very prominent. The lighter soprano is probably Cindy's. According to Mary's book "Reflections" is the last single to feature Florence on backing vocals.

@paleyoungman
Florence is on it.
berry thought her vocals were "flat", so he smoothed them out with The Andantes, so It is Mary, Flo, & the Andantes:)
Thnx for the comment!
