The Regulars are getting something like the old hats they used to wear prior to this mess.

The Elites are keeping their Berets as a simple of their elite status.

And no kidding, I have little respect for the Euros.

@FLJBeliever1776 Certain "elite" units should have the beret but for the everyday, workaday soldier it's just so Eurotrash; bring back the Overseas Hat.

@SatchmoSings Thankfully, the military won big recently. The price tag of the Berets and their continued dislike has made them formal head cover now. The soldiers are switching to new head cover that's nearly six dollars cheaper and the Special Forces are jumping in the air, clicking their feet together, and cheering that they get to keep the Beret as a mark of being an elite of the US Armed Forces.

@FLJBeliever1776 The military still uses campaign hats; the problem is the OVERSEAS HAT was introduced in WWI as an "honor badge" as having been "Over There" while those that remained stateside still wore the Campaign Hat.

Those stupid berets replaced the OVERSEAS hat which was a tradition that started in WWI
