I've been on the skywalk and to be honest it's not worth the money at all. You can't take your own camera with you and the pictures they take for you cost like 50 bux. You get a very nice view from the 'free' side of the canyon as well, so I'd advice to just do that instead.
So there are great views huh? Yeah that's great. Yeah the roads are rough because it costs extra money to pave the roads and most of the money goes into booze.
Say ,... wouldn't it be interesting if you smuggled in a rock hammer with a sharp tip while wearing a parachute then once on the glass cat walk, take it out, smash the glass, open the chute, and land not far from a motor boat?
That would be funny to watch from a distance. Even more fun to film. How much do you think a film of that would fetch? 20,000? 100K?
I went to Grand Canyon West in July 2008. It was well worth the trip from LV. The best views were from Guano Point, but the Skywalk was a really neat experience. The seventeen mile unpaved road into GC West is a bit rough, and the entry station a bit crowed, but once you get past the entrance station to the lookouts and Indian Village, you'll be blown away by the views.

I wonder why they're afraid -- the edge is so low -- looks like they could get blown right over the edge.
