Today, Chairman Waxman introduced two bills to increase government transparency and encourage the discovery of waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer money. Today's hearing provided an opportunity for the Committee to focus on the issues of lobbying and ethics reform in the executive branch. The Committee heard from noted experts and academics on these issues, here Chairman Henry Waxman gives his opening remarks.

  • the whistle blower act is exactly what they need to improve to sink this administration and all of its criminal acts against the people of america. for sure waxman knows of people that will blow the whistle once the whistle blower act is beefed up. the bush administration better start shitting their pants right about now. heads up cheney they are coming for you.

  • Sounds nice... will it pass? and is it actually an effective solution to this problem? I don't really trust that anyone in congress would actually do anything to jeopardize their own corruption.
