This is good defence. I teach wing chun in the UK and have been doing this move for years - it works both against good martial artists in class sparring, as well as in street confrontations (a guy tried a bear hug on me about two years ago). You have to remember that this particular technique will only work when the attackers leg is forward (ie if he is flat stanced, it is a lot harder to pull off). Nice attitudes in the class though
Thank you for showing the leg hook. I've seen many defenses on Youtube where that idea/concept is not displayed. The version I know uses a leg hook from the inside and not the out like here, but it's a solid idea that buys you time and keeps you from being lifted.
