@MrRabit1993 Why? If you know anything about flying taildraggers there are three types of landings. Wheel Landings, You land on the main's and hold it on the main's till the tail falls. Then you have a Three Point where you land on all threes and keep it there. Then you have a Short Field, Land how ever the hell you want only if you can get it stoped in time.

You need to pull that stick into your stomack and leave it there after you touch down.

nice.. no one does the slip any more. prerfectly done!

@bigbengamer a "forward slip" is used in landing particularly. It is especially useful for small aircraft such as the Champ that don't have flaps to help slow and increase descent rate. The aircraft continues in the same direction but at the angle seen by lowering a wing with ailerons and counter rudder to keep straight. you can see it from a pilot view in my video, Flight at Bermudian Valley, around the 1:24-1:47 marks. This video is an excellent example from outside view!

In my humble opinion, that is the best slip to a wheel landing that I've seen in my 30 year rookie aviation career. I loved that "forward acceleration", as the plane levelled and "saw" the ground effect. Excellent! Would agree, however, that if that was a short field, a 3 point landing would have been the "pilot's selection". BUT: "Great video, with a tremendous (no other word for it) piloting technique. Thanks, N6395T

Ok someone educate me. What is slipping? The way he approached the ground?
This was a nice wheel landing, however not really a Short Field Landing. SFL would come in WAY slow, 3 point touchdown and brakes. Would use about 1/3 of the runway.
